How It All Began: A Humble Journey

Katin-awan was born gently—like a seed quietly planted in fertile soil—in 2018. What started as a personal healing journey turned into a calling that could no longer be ignored. Those early days were simple, guided more by feeling than by any grand plan. But even then, the heart of Katin-awan was clear: to offer a space where people could reconnect to something real—something ancient and alive within them.

The name Katin-awan, from the Cebuano word for “clarity” or “clear vision,” came to us in a moment of stillness. It felt like a whisper from the land itself, reminding us what we were here to share.

Since then, Katin-awan has grown slowly and organically, shaped not just by ceremony, but by stories, laughter, tears, and the deep trust of those who have walked this path with us. Every person who has stepped through our gates has left their own quiet imprint. And we’re still learning—always listening to the medicine, to the land, and to each other.

Cradled in the peaceful mountains of Cebu, Philippines, Katin-awan is woven into the land, not placed on top of it. Our bungalows are nestled among native trees and medicinal plants, where nature speaks in quiet ways—through the rustle of leaves, the song of birds, the hush of a morning breeze.
