Plant medicine refers to sacred, earth-based remedies that have been used for generations in Indigenous traditions to support healing, self-discovery, and spiritual connection. Rather than altering reality, these natural allies gently open the heart, calm the mind, and invite us to explore deeper layers of awareness, emotion, and inner truth.

When held in a properly guided, intentional setting with experienced facilitators, these ceremonies are generally safe. Medical screening, preparation, and aftercare are essential parts of the process to ensure your physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.

People with certain medical conditions (e.g., heart issues, severe mental health disorders) or those taking specific medications (like SSRIs or MAOIs) should avoid some plant medicines. A personal health screening is conducted before acceptance into a ceremony.

Each person's journey is unique. Some experience visions, emotional release, deep insight, or physical purging. Others may feel peace, connection, or spiritual presence. It’s not always easy, but often deeply transformative.

Purging is a natural part of some ceremonies, especially Ayahuasca and Kambo. It’s seen not just as physical detox but as emotional or energetic release. Crying, shaking, sweating, or laughing are also common and welcomed as part of the healing.

Preparation includes a specific diet (often called a dieta), reducing or stopping certain medications, and reflecting on your intention. You may also be asked to avoid alcohol, processed foods, sexual activity, and stimulants in the days prior.

Not at all. Our space is open to all paths and backgrounds. The medicine meets you where you are, no religion, dogma, or belief system is required. What’s needed most is openness and respect.

Yes. Integration is the process of making sense of your experience and applying its lessons to everyday life. At Katin-awan, we offer sharing circles, community support, and guidance from facilitators to help ground your journey.

It’s completely natural to feel nervous. This work can bring up deep emotions. You are never alone, we create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you\'re supported at every step. You are always free to choose what feels right for you.

Yes, but with guidance. Some medicines complement each other beautifully when spaced properly. Our facilitators can help you understand the best path for your healing, based on your needs and readiness.
